Kentucky Ag. Water Quality Plan

The Purpose of this Program

This BMP Generator program was developed to assist Kentucky landowners and farmers in developing their Kentucky Ag. Water Quality Plans. Kentucky law requires that these plans be developed and implemented by October 2001. Based upon how the user answers the assessment questions the program will generate a list of suggested water quality Best Management Practices (BMPs) that can form the framework for an Ag. Water Quality Plan. Once the BMP list is printed out, the landowner and/or the farmer must complete the plan by filling in information concerning: Detailed information on the requirements for each BMP is outlined in the State Agriculture Water Quality Plan. A copy of this document is available at most Kentucky Conservation District offices and Cooperative Extension Service offices. Landowners are advised to review the minimum requirements for the BMPs they will be implementing in their plans.
